When to fly
Peak Season:
The summer months of late May through to August are usually the best times to visit Brighton with temperatures averaging around 17 degrees, although you can never be sure about the British weather. Book flights to Brighton at this time to experience one of the many summer events that Brighton is home to such as TAKEPART Festival in June, Love Supreme Festival in July and the Tribal Earth Festival in August. Thousands fly into the UK and flock in high numbers to Brighton in July to get involved in the world’s biggest free beach and watersports festival, Paddle Round the Pier. The festival takes place annually at the beautiful venue of Hove Lawns and Brighton Hove, and features a program of fun events for everyone from novice to serious athletes such as surfing, paddling boarding, kayaking, windsurfing, kite surfing, mountain biking, live music, kids entertainment and many more unusual sporting events to dabble in.
However one of the biggest, fabulous and most famous event that takes place in August is Brighton’s Summer Pride which is considered as the best Pride festival in the UK. It is harder to find cheap flights to Brighton during this period because they are in high demand, people flock to the city to join over 160,000 spectators and participants who come together to celebrate everything extravagant, magnificent and marvellous about the parade; and people will continue partying, dancing and singing late into the night in many of the popular and buzzing bars the seaside town has to offer.
Off Season:
The busiest periods in Brighton are during summer, weekends and school holidays, when Brighton sees families, couples and friends travel to the seaside town to enjoy a break. Cooler temperatures arrive in Brighton in October until April, with temperatures averaging from 5 to 12 degrees. This is when you are more likely to find the best deals and a cheap flight to Brighton.
Destination overview:
Also known as “London on Sea,” take a flight to Brighton and discover the coolest seaside destination on the South Coast. Popular since Regency times, Brighton’s architecture is particularly appealing, with winding streets (known as “the lanes”), packed full of trendy, arty and eclectic shops and cafés that lead down to the seafront. The hub of the town is Palace Pier, the seafront and its famous pebbled beach.
The Brighton Pavilion is an impressive affair; it looks like it belongs in a Far Eastern fairy-tale. It was built by the Prince Regent in 1815, in the style of the Taj Mahal. Visitors can tour the building to see its interiors and gardens.
The liberal attitude that the Prince Regent brought to Brighton lives on today. It is known as the “gay capital” of the UK and the area of Kemptown (along King's Cliff to Black Rock) is full of bars and clubs that fly the rainbow-coloured flag.
