The high season summer months of December, January and February are likely to be a lot more expensive but there are some peak season deals offered for a brief time during the pre-summer season, making it possible to get cheap flights. This period sees higher temperatures, around the early teens to mid-20s, with January being the warmest month. The area can become quite scorching during the summer months, in particular the high summer, so visitors should ensure that they wear adequate sun protection.

Join the thousands of locals and visitors, dressed in classic 1920s and ‘30s fashion, who descend on the city streets.
If you’re a foodie then booking your flights to Napier to coincide with their F.A.W.C! Food and Wine Classic can be ideal. Held twice a year in Hawke’s Bay, this event offers a series of food and wine experiences which are sure to tickle your taste buds. The F.A.W.C! Summer Series is held in October/November and the Winter Series is held in June.
From fantastic beach experiences to sublime views, adventure and cultural experiences, Napier on New Zealand’s North Island is a great holiday destination for adventurous and romantic travellers where many book flights to. Located close to Napier, Te Mata Peak is one of the region’s most visited attractions for its beautiful views: Hawkes Bay surrounds you and the emotions conjured by the scenery are incredible. A great choice for a beach tour and barbeque is the Cape Kidnappers tour which takes you on a beach walk and a visit to The Farm Restaurant for some local cuisine. Of course the beach is omnipresent in the city and a popular space for rest and relaxation.
Napier experiences its winter months during June, July and August and this is when the area also gets most of its rainfall, June is the wettest month. Temperatures during this time are on average between 6 and 15 degrees Celsius, with August in particular being the coldest month. This is considered the low season in the city, which means that flights and accommodation prices are likely to be slightly cheaper during these months.
Hawke’s Bay airport (NPE) is located 7 km from the city and is also referred to as Napier Airport. The city centre is located a 10-minute drive from the airport making it easy to reach your hotel or spa. Taxis, shuttles, rental cars are available at the airport to make travel to the Central Business District (CBD) easy and convenient.
Once in the city you can make use of the local bus service, a private car or shuttle or taxi services to see the sights and tour in the area.
