The capital city of New Zealand, Wellington, is located at the southern tip of the North Island on the edge of a sweeping harbour. Wellington International Airport (WLG) is located 5.5 km south east of the city centre. The Airport Flyer express bus service leaves every 15 minutes and travels to the Hutt Valley, via Wellington central, to Queensgate. Taxi ranks are situated outside the baggage claim area on level 0 of the terminal building. There are five car rental companies that have desks at the airport if you plan on touring the area.
