British Airways Check-in
Online check-in is available 24 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart. Apps are available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Windows 7 phones to manage bookings, find flight times and download boarding passes. Travellers may also check-in at kiosks or at the desks at the airport.
British Airways baggage allowance
Hand luggage: One piece of hand baggage plus a handbag or laptop. The maximum weight is 23kg (51lbs) and passengers should be able to lift the bag into the overhead lockers without help.
Checked luggage: Depends on class of travel and type of ticket booked. In World Traveller Y class (full-fare Economy) the allowance is two bags weighing 23kg each. The maximum dimensions are 90cm x 75cm x 43cm (35.5 x 29.5 x 16 in).
Excess baggage rates: Extra baggage allowance may be purchased via Manage My Booking or at the airport. Passengers may pay to check-in up to ten extra bags per person with the same weight restrictions as the free allowance. In World Traveller class the cost of an extra bag is $51/£34/€43. Subsequent bags are charged at $119/£77/€98. In World Traveller Y class (full-fare Economy) the cost of bringing an extra bag (on top of the two-bag allowance) is $119/£77/€98.

Pre-arranged seating
There's no scrum at the departure gate as all passengers are allocated a seat. There's free seat choice during check-in. Depending on the fare class, passengers may select their seats during the booking process.
Passenger change details
The ability to change times and dates of travel depends on the fare class. In general, the cheapest fares won't allow any changes.
Child fares
There are discounts for little flyers. On a long-haul route (Sydney-London) the child fare is about 75 per cent of the adult fare. Infants (the under twos) are charged 10 per cent of the adult fare.
Senior fares
BA does not offer discounts for older travellers.

Animals travel with British Airways World Cargo, transported in the hold of the aircraft.
Carrying musical instruments
Small musical instruments may be carried as cabin baggage (under 126cm or 50in), as part of the free hand baggage allowance. Larger instruments may be carried as part of your hold-baggage allowance. Passengers should notify BA at the time of booking, or at least 24 hours before the flight is scheduled to depart.
In-flight service
In World Traveller Plus and World Traveller class passengers enjoy a three-course meal with complimentary bar service. The in-flight entertainment varies by class and route but the standard of entertainment is high with movies, TV and audio (including the High Life Radio channel which features titles from the BBC archives and an extensive CD library).
