Australia is a massive country that could take a lifetime to explore - and then some. From the red desert sunsets at Uluru and white beaches of Western Australia to the underwater paradise of the Great Barrier Reef and the stunning Tasmanian forest wilderness, there are endless places to put on your must-see list. Travellers book flights to Australia to explore the cities, which are vibrant and diverse with an exuberant mix of cultures, world-class restaurants, thriving arts and entertainment scenes and an enviable laid-back lifestyle. Most of Australia's 20 million people live within 50km of the coast, leaving a fascinating, sparsely-populated country to explore. The outback, Australia's largely inhospitable red desert centre, retains an alluring mystique for many travellers. With so much to see and do, it's no wonder Australia was recently voted the world's most coveted destination.
