When is the best time to fly to Colorado Springs?
The months of March to May and September to November are the best times to take flights to Colorado Springs. From September, the mountains which surround the city merge into a cavalcade of colour as the foliage transforms into a sea of orange, yellow and bright red. Average temperatures during these months are much more comfortable than those of June-August and so are ideal for those who enjoy walking or cycling as temperatures don’t reach above 21 degrees Celsius.
During September to November tourist numbers drop from the highs of the preceding months and many hotel rates follow suit. Travellers will also be able to benefit from cheap flights to Colorado during these off peak months, making it the perfect time to visit for budget-conscious holidaymakers. If you are visiting in November, it is advisable to check which accommodation is available as some hotels close about this time. December is a great month to take a flight to Colorado Springs as there are many Christmas festivities taking place such as Christmas at Glen Eyrie Castle, The Christmas Symphony, Skate in the Park and the annual Festival of Lights celebration. The event provides a day of fun for all the family such as face painting and letters to Santa, Christmas story time, live performances and the Festival of Lights Parade of music, animals, Santa and sparkling lights, which takes place in the centre.
