Krabi, Thailand, is the centre of the Krabi province and gateway to over 80 islands, with regular ferries to islands such as Ko Phi Phi, Ko Jum and Ko Lanta. Krabi offers many beaches and outdoor activities, where you can hire a boat, go island hopping, snorkel and kayak. Railay Beach is an approximate 30min boat ride from Krabi city. There you can enjoy white sand, caves and rock climbing. The Thung Teao National Park is home to native plants and animals, where you can see the Crystal Lagoon, also known as the Emerald Pool. While you’re there, relax in the Klong Thom Hot Springs. You could take a day trip to one of Thailand’s natural wonders The Way Tham Sua (Tiger Cave), a temple in a cave up over 1,000 steps. It is a maze of natural caves where a tiger lived and contains the ‘Footprint of Buddha’. At the top, it offers a 360-degree view of the Krabi province. The Krabi Elephant Sanctuary is the first ethical shelter in Krabi that rescues elephants. Visit the Krabi Shell Cemetery in Susan Hoi, where you will find prehistoric shells from 25-40 million years ago.

If you enter Thailand overland at a border checkpoint, you can stay in Thailand for up to 15 days without a visa. Travelling to Thailand for business purposes requires a business visa.
