If you are heading to other parts of the country, there are daily direct flights from Dakar to the southern city of Ziguinchor. From here, you can easily travel to the seaside resort of Cap Skirring. Another way to travel to the south of the country is by ferry. You can take an overnight ferry from Dakar to Ziguinchor, which takes about 16h and departs twice weekly.

Popular coastal resorts include La Petite Cote, near Dakar, and Cap Skirring, in the country’s southwestern corner. We recommend visiting Senegal during the dry season, from December to May, when the temperature is warm and road travel is much easier.
