Images of Nepal usually go hand in hand with images of Mount Everest – rainbow prayer flags, bleak mountain passes, and an endless stream of world-class climbers. But of course, there’s much more to this Asian country than the Himalayas. The Kathmandu Valley is home to the temples and lively streets of the capital city, Kathmandu. Elsewhere, national parks shelter endangered Bengal tigers, rhinos and red pandas. To get to Nepal, jump on an indirect flight from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport. Flight times start at 16 hours, including a stopover.
Etihad Airways stops in Brisbane and then Abu Dhabi. These flights require that you allow for two travel days also.
Cathay Pacific does have a couple of flights that only make one stopover in Hong Kong. Flights that make two stops will land in Melbourne and then in Hong Kong on the way to Nepal.
You can book a number of flights with Qatar Airways that have only one stopover on this route. The stop will be in Doha. Your stop will be as little as two and a half hours, but could be a lot longer taking most of a day.
Emirates has several choices for one-stop flights serving this route. The plane will land in Dubai on its way to Nepal. You may need a whole day or up to two for these flights as well.
