When is the best time to fly to Nanning?

The best time to go to Nanning in China is during the winter, from September to January. Temperatures are humid and sub tropical with January being the coldest month. The amazing International Folk Song Arts Festival takes place in September. Folk singers perform lively songs on stage and encourage the audience to join in. Catch the Dragon Boat Festival too, great fun for everyone. Nanning is cheap to visit during school or national holidays. Known as the Green City, Nanning in China has a lush, green, tropical feel to it. It has mountain resorts, high tech business districts, lakes, cinemas and plenty of bookshops. For something a little different, the People's Park or Renmin Gongyuan as it is known locally, makes for a great day out. It's an amusement park with a sub tropical atmosphere along with lakes that have uniquely shaped bridges from one side to the other. You may even see the Jaba flower which is an evergreen shrub and almond trees that are used to create avenues in the city. Take a guided tour in Yi Ling Cave to see amazing stalactites and stalagmites. Lights shine on these natural formations making the cave fairytale-like and beautiful. Lots of people enjoy travelling to Nanning for its culture and heritage as well as visiting museums and calling at ancient pagodas. The city itself is modern, clean and busy, making it a very popular and busy tourist destination.

Getting around Nanning

If you enjoy a train journey, the railway station can be found in the north of the city. Trains run quite frequently to different areas outside Nanning so you can get a feel of China at its very best. There are also two bus terminals with comfortable vehicles that drive around the city and further afield.

Getting from the Airport to the City

Nanning Wuxu International Airport is approximately 20 miles (32 km) south west of the city centre so it won't take too long to get to your hotel. The airport handles millions of passengers each year, many of whom use taxis and buses for their onward journey.
