The best time to go to Nanning in China is during the winter, from September to January. Temperatures are humid and sub tropical with January being the coldest month. The amazing International Folk Song Arts Festival takes place in September. Folk singers perform lively songs on stage and encourage the audience to join in. Catch the Dragon Boat Festival too, great fun for everyone. Nanning is cheap to visit during school or national holidays. Children will love the zoo that is home to rhinos, elephants, camels, hippos and monkeys. Take a guided tour in Yi Ling Cave to see amazing stalactites and stalagmites. Lights shine on these natural formations making the cave fairytale-like and beautiful. Lots of people enjoy travelling to Nanning for its culture and heritage as well as visiting museums and calling at ancient pagodas.
