Customer service rep was taking a personal call on her cell phone with the other party on speaker. Because she didn’t want the other party to know she was at work (?) or disrupt her conversation, the budget rep whispered while doing my paperwork and I could barely understand her. To top it off, the was NOT LOCATED where she said it was! I spent 10 mins searching the lot where she directed me, headed back to the desk, and then said she meant to say it was the opposite direction to where she initially told me. Unbelievable.

I rented a Minivan from Hertz through Kayak. The minivan had all the bells and whistles, to include touch screens for the kids and a full length sun roof. My wife and I enjoyed the heated and cooled seats, perfect for our lower backs on a long drive. The comfort of the van made traveling easy with kids.

I booked a car through Kayak at 8:00am for a 7:00pm pick up. I received a call 30 minutes before pick up that they had no cars available and they couldn’t remember if they called me earlier to tell me that. So, no car and no time to arrange a car with a different agency.

The staff was friendly and helpful. It was very easy to get to the car and then return it.

This was my first time ever renting a car I didn’t really know what to expect, but I was definitely disappointed. Once I got the keys I went to get the car and got in, I immediately noticed it smelled like smoke. It wasn’t unbearable but I wanted to report it because I didn’t want the company to think I had anything to do with it. I went back to inform the guys at the desk but they were all gone. I waited for about 10 minutes or so but no one came back. Fortunately there was a woman at another rental car company desk right there who took my information and said she would give it to the guys in the morning and to not worry about it. While driving the car around over the weekend I had the AC on and it had a mold smell at different times. I’m assuming the air filter needed changed. I’m kind of surprised This happened. I assumed rental car companies would make sure the car was clean and was maintained with new air filters. But perhaps not and this is just how it is. Also, I was incorrectly charged on my credit card and customer service is going to fix it but could not tell me why that happened.

First car at pickup reeked with cigarette smoke so bad I couldn’t use it. They did replace with same type vehicle. Was very displeased that the same car rental fee around $25 less per day at their 8 min away location. I couldn’t use them because my flight got in at 3:30 and they closed at 4:00 on Saturdays and they would not leave car for me like Enterprise rental does

There are no signs telling you where to turn on the keys. Turns out you have to go to baggage claim to find the desk. We certainly weren't the only ones walking around in the rain trying to figure that out.

Strong smell of smoke in a partially cleaned car. No mechanism to report existing damage. Thankfully none major. Despite airport mask mandate, clerk did not wear one. Important to me traveling with family with lung disease. Will not use same company again if reasonable option exists.

Easy pick up and drop off

Car was dirty, maintenance light was on for oil change and filter when we picked it up. Tires were bare causing us to hydroplane during rain storms. Rear view mirror kept falling off.

Dropping off in Charlottesville was not good. Their drop off area was completely full and cars were half-hazardly parked and a few people weren’t sure where to leave the cars. We all ended up just parking in the middle of a row.
