When is the best time to fly to Ibiza?

Peak season:

UK partygoers seeking the best nightclubs and white sand beaches should hop on a cheap flight to Ibiza. Known as an international party destination, this small island off the east coast of mainland Spain hosts large influxes of tourists each year who come for the lively nightlife at bars and clubs which feature some of the world’s best DJs. The constant sunny weather is also a major attraction and the main beaches are always busy during peak season with people soaking up the sun after a hard night of partying. Between May and October is when the majority of visitors arrive on flights to Ibiza. Ibiza Town, the island’s capital, and San Antonio are where the action is centred. Expect the prices in summer to soar to reflect high season tourism. But as the island's government is trying to foster a more cultured and quieter tourism scene, taking flights to Ibiza in summer doesn’t necessarily mean hanging out at nightclubs. Parts of the picturesque ‘White Isle’ have been declared World Heritage Sites and there are many small villages to explore and rural hikes you can do. The north of the island is the most undeveloped and contains many quiet resorts ideal for a family summer holiday away from the crowds.

Off season:

Ibiza quietens down considerably after big clubs such as Space, Amnesia and Pacha have their closing parties. This is generally around the first week of October and from there on in it is considered the off season until April. The prices of flights to Ibiza drop dramatically during the off season as do the temperatures. During winter it’s around 12C / 13C, though October is the rainiest month. Hotels are very cheap in the off season so you should be able to get a real bargain.

When is the best time to book a flight to Ibiza?

The best time to book flights to Ibiza depends on what you want to do while you’re there. If you’re after a beach holiday but don’t want the crowds, then April to early June are the best months to visit. Clubs have their opening parties at the end of May but flight tickets and accommodation are yet to skyrocket. May and June are also the best months for swimming. If you’re wanting to participate in the clubbing scene, then July, August and September are the optimal months to go but book your flight tickets and accommodation well in advance. August is the hottest and busiest month with temperatures reaching well into the 30s. For a quiet, family holiday and tranquil beaches visit during any time from May to October.
