Cheap Car Hire in Tennessee from $49

I was very pleased with service and car. Christian Smith was my agent and very nice. He took time to show me all the gadgets on the Kona. I will ask for him again.

The people were relatively nice. The car smells of smoke and the upholstery was ripped, overall the call seemed dirty. I could not pick up at my requested time, I was asked to come in earlier - why offer that pick up time if it's not available? Same with drop off, I arrived before closing time busy was told I needed to use the drop box.

I have no bad things to say if you need to rent a car the best place is budget in West Knoxville TN

The attendant, at drop-off, was extremely helpful and pleasant. Very professional‼️

Car wasn't available

I reserved the car for tonight but when I arrived they had none left and said I would need to wait until tomorrow. I did not take a car and instead went direct with an alternative vendor

It was pure shitty. The National number gave a reservation. I get to me he facilities tu there was no car availiable. Needless to say it completely screwed my whole weekend

Ced, the owner and manager of the downtown location, called the day before to confirm the reservation. When he did, he noted that my reservation was needed at the airport, instead of his location. He then confirmed that the airport location would have a car and took care of everything, despite it not being a direct benefit to him. This is outstanding customer service, and a shining example of someone that takes pride in his work. Thank you!

I liked that the vehicle was clean, it was a comfortable ride and availability of using it. I didn't like that the ppl at the rental place called dollar were rude and really took long to get the car o had to wait almost 1 hour for the car due to stock. Also I had to hold extra money on my credit card.just for it ti be released 4 days later. Im.just glad I didn't run into any problems before the hold was released.

This was a great price for rental car required after personal car totaled in MVA. However, the experience with local Hertz rental company was horrible. The rental was prepaid through the website. When we arrived to pickup the vehicle (within the "grace period") we were told it was no longer available and they did not have any other cars available to replace it with. We asked why they gave away our prepaid reservation, even though we could see the acutal vehicle we booked still sitting on the lot. There was no reasonable or rational response given. Customer service was abysmal to the point that the agent told us to get out of her face and leave the building because she had nothing else to do for us. I asked for a refund. Response was you have to call the 800 number. I had no success in getting ahold of the right person on the 800 number that had the authority to authorize the refund. I absolutely would not recommend renting from this particular Hertz location on Getwell Ave in Memphis, TN. Worst service & experience ever! Still trying to get our money back. Stay away from this location.

Our rental experience was a complete nightmare when it came to getting the rental its self. The first time we showed up we had called ahead to make sure that paying in cash was not gonna be an issue but apparently with that singular location, Our rental experience was a complete nightmare when it came to getting the rental it’s self. The first time we showed up we had called ahead to make sure that paying in cash was not gonna be an issue but apparently with that singular location it is an issue and it requires to have an open credit card and not cash only unless you have two airline tickets now this became a huge problem because I did not have this prepared on hand. I had called prior and check the website to make sure that this wasn’t gonna be an issue and yet it was. The ladies then invited me to go to the other site down the street they couldn’t call for whatever reason to assist me but they suggested we go down there and we go down there. They do not have anything or do they have any suggestions for anything else in this whole beginning of my experience with renting a car through Alamo was absolutely garbage. The ladies laughed because this was a regular issue , which didn’t really help anything at all in the car itself was great. It was literally just the customer service experience when I did call the customer service line to get assistance. I was told multiple times have the policy worked and then when I finally asked the gentleman if he was going to assist me after I was told that he was going to be able to help with the cash/card problem. He’s straight up told me no he wasn’t going to help me and hung up the phone. The rental it’s self was great but we had to air up tires shortly after leaving.

I prepaid to rent a car on a short work trip in Memphis. Arrived to find they had rented my car to someone else and had no cars available. They told me they couldn’t give me a refund; I would have to call “someone”.

Thrifty sent a text 30 min ahead offering me to skip the counter by choosing my car. I got “car unavailable - refresh in 15 min”. I did. No car. Again. No car. Went to the place anyway, it got worse. Person at counter said “We don’t have any cars for one-way. I’ll have to call a manager for approval and I’ll call you when we have one. At least 30 minutes.” I never got a call. Never got a car. Since I used Expedia, she said she couldn’t cancel. Since it was after the reservation time, Expedia said (on an app) canceling was not available and no refund.

A little odd that I received a four-door pickup truck when I thought I would receive a compact, but everything else is fine.
