Cheapflights' beer lover's guide to European Airports
Expand your taste buds as well as your horizons
In this guide to European beers, we have chosen six European countries, which Cheapflights’ European and North American users rate as being among their favourites to visit and get merry in.
Beer drinkers the world over tend to be fanatically loyal to their favourite brew, whether it’s a local brewery that produces craft beers or, in today’s “global village”, a favoured import from further afield. Air travel gives us the opportunity to expand both our horizons and our taste buds by visiting new destinations and sampling their local brews. What better place to take that first sip than at the airport?
Europe is home to a whopping 2,300 plus breweries. These range from long-established, internationally known majors to smaller regional producers of specialist brews. Europe has a beer to suit every taste, and not surprisingly, it boasts nine of the world’s ten countries with the highest beer consumption per capita. This guide highlights the brands brewed near airports, which can most likely be found at airport bars alongside the larger, international brands.
